More Information

Gentle Horsemanship for Young Riders is a new CD-ROM for riders from eight to thirteen years of age and above. It contains 12 lessons and quizzes which bring the young rider through all aspects of gentle and natural horsemanship, from learning to say hello, understanding the horse, working with the horse, feeding, management, communication, how ponies think, dealing with bossy or naughty ponies, dealing with pony problems, riding gently, improving transitions using small cues, listening and understanding your pony, and using safe and effective methods. There are also 12 practical tasks, which range from how to catch a pony to loading, riding with light hands and various groundwork tasks and yielding. This CD-ROM is beautifully illustrated with photos and is both engaging and provides valuable information for young riders who want to do more than just kicking and pulling. ___________________________________________________________________________________ MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: PC only. Pentium 4, Win 98, 2000, XP, Internet Explorer, 256 RAM, flash player, cdrom drive. *This does not work on Firefox or Opera. _________________________________________________________________________ ‘I think it will be really good when it’s finished – have you done any more quizzes yet?!’ Orla, age 8, Sligo. ___________________________________________________________________________________ “It’s great and the quizzes are cool” !!! Matthew, age 9, Dublin. ___________________________________________________________________________________ ‘I think that the language in it is the correct level for the age group (great practice for their reading skills), and the content is excellent – what I have read so far. After this one you could do an upgraded version for adults!!’ Rachel, Ireland. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Just to let you know that we've been through it all (inc most of the quizzes) and are well impressed. I'm sure it'll be invaluable for any parent wanting their child to be taught 'the right way' (the only way in my opinion). I haven't seen anything like this, regarding 'intelligent / natural horsemanship', that's been aimed at children before. I think it's an excellent idea on your part and I'm sure it'll be a huge success. Emma, U.K. ___________________________________________________________________________________ ‘It looks very professional and I was thrilled to see Luna on there. I think the idea of an upgraded one for grown-ups is good!’ Jane U.K. ___________________________________________________________________________________ It was ever so cute! I enjoyed reading in thoroughly and I think you have done some really fantastic work. Taeho, U.K. ___________________________________________________________________________________ It's great, and has some excellent photos. My nephew Dan is 10 and has been all through, he was hooked. Kas, UK ___________________________________________________________________________________ 'The CD rom just arrived this morning - I have just spent ages looking at it and its fab - well done. I am going to go through it with my little niece. She is only 5 but as its in what I call a 'homework type' style, I think she will benefit from learning and then going back and forth to obtain the correct answers from what she might learn. Its a fab idea and I am sure that lots of children will benefit hugely from it.' Lorraine, UK ___________________________________________________________________________________ 'It is absolutely brilliant.' Padraic, Primary school teacher, Tallaght, Dublin, Ireland. ___________________________________________________________________________________ 'My daughter (8) has it and she loves it. She keeps going back to it to check things out, prints out some instructions and she adores the quizzes.' Marianna, UK___________________________________________________________________________________ 'Our 10 yr old tester thinks it's great!' Laura, Equestrian sales company, UK.___________________________________________________________________________________ 'My first impression is its very good. You have done something I have had in mind for ages!! Well done.' Alaistair, University Equine lecturer, Ireland.___________________________________________________________________________________ 'I think your cd-rom is marvelous!' Andrea, Equestrian retailer, U.K. ___________________________________________________________________________________ 'I'm very impressed as I think children will like the format particularly the quizzes. I'm sure this is more appealing to them than a book and will lend it to some of my younger pupils for 'homework'! ' Fiona, BHS committee member, U.K. ___________________________________________________________________________________ 'I think it is very good, good luck with it. I will be using it at pony club camp. I will tell everyone where it came from!' Helen, Equine University Lecturer & Pony Club instructor, U.K.
