Informatism or Information Art is digital art that conveys special meaning in the information gathered from various sources. Because the Internet and the world wide web have opened the doors for information sharing among people all over the world, technology is also enabling us to collect this information and use it in artisitc pieces to convey a special meaning. Many information art pieces are mosaics or collages of small images that represent the worldview during the life of an individual shown in the larger image. There are variations on this theme, as well.
