HI-Austin in a non-profit 501(c)3 educational organization, and is a member of the worldwide organization Hostelling International. Our mission is "to help all, especially the young, gain a greater understanding of the world and its people through hostelling." Located on the banks of the Colorado River, our 42-bed hostel is less than a fifteen minute city bus ride from the live music scene on 6th Street & Red River downtown, Barton Springs natural pool, the Mexican freetail bat colony at the Congress Avenue bridge, or to the University of Texas at Austin.
