Health Education Resource Organization, Inc. (HERO) is Baltimore's oldest and largest non-profit organization dedicated to the provision of HIV/AIDS-related services. Our mission is to advocate for and provide direct care services to people affected by HIV/AIDS and associated conditions; to provide prevention and health education to the community about HIV/AIDS and associated conditions; and to provide resource development to other HIV/AIDS service organizations, both domestic and international. In pursuit of this mission, our purpose is to reduce the disparities in health care and improve health outcomes of those infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS in the Baltimore Eligible Metropolitan Area (EMA).
