This setting of Te Lucis Ante Terminum is sung at Compline on ordinary Sundays and days of minor feasts which do not have another setting specified in the Proper.
Mode 4 - Solemn Feasts
This setting of Te Lucis Ante Terminum is sung on Solemn Feasts which do not have another setting specified in the Proper.
Mode 8 - Paschal Sundays and Feasts
This is the setting of Te Lucis Ante Terminum that is sung on Sundays and Feasts during Paschal time, except feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Mode 2 - Feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary
This Mode 2 setting is sung during Feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary and during their Octaves, including during Paschal time.
Mode 2 - Advent
The Advent setting is in Mode 2 and uses a "Fa" clef instead of a "Do" clef.
Mode 8 - Christmas
This Tone, or the Tone of the Hymn of Vespers, is used for the Hymns of the Little Hours and of Compline until the Eve of the Epiphany, even in the Office of Saints. This Tone is used also at Complin
Mode 8 - Epiphany
This setting of Te Lucis Ante Terminum is used throughout the octave of the Epiphany.
