Built in the mid 5th century BCE, the Parthenon has graced the skyline of Athens for millennia, perched on a huge bastion of rock called the Acropolis. Once festivals in honor of the goddess Athena took place here. The temple taken quite a beating during the wars of the last few centuries, and modern scaffolding is the sign of the times. Nevertheless, it remains the most famous landmark of Greece, and the public buildings of many countries -- including the Lincoln Memorial -- are based on it.
The mug and tote bag designs are two-sided; the other side is my Athena Art line drawing.
