"It's All Greek to Me!" That's the slogan for my shop, and this handsome fellow is a real crowd-stopper! He'll get a few chuckles in the classroom or museum. Notice there are two different shapes to this design: round (right) or a sort of shield shape (see below).
This beautiful Roman copy of a lost Greek statue is currently housed in the National Museum in Athens. The original 5th century BCE sculpture was called the "Diadoumenos", the ribbon-binder, an athlete crowning himself after a victory.
