Ægishjálmar is used for protection as well as overcoming obstacles. The eight spoked wheel represents completion and return. The dominant rune at the end of each spoke is Elhaz, the rune of the Guardian archetype and the Valkyrie. Around the circle are runes of the elder futhark, another powerful configuration of protection, but there are many hidden runes within the wheel as well.
