What's currently in the works for the Carnation Friends?
- Assisting the library financially with their early literacy programs.
- Sponsoring our new book club, The Tolt Literarary Society. (Meeting at 7pm, the first Tuesday of each month, at the Carnation Library)
- Road Cleanup - We are currently the sponsors of a 3 mile stretch of Tolt River Rd. in Carnation, WA.
This takes place twice a year, once always on Earth Day.
- Friends of the Library Book Bags are on sale locally at the Carnation Public Library. These black canvas,
lined bags have an outer zipper pocket, a square
bottom for stability and feature the artwork of the
Carnation Elementary school children on the front in
white. All proceeds go to support the library.
- The Friends of the Library Gift Shop - This shop features T-shirts, mugs, mouse pads, buttons,
bumper-stickers, magnets, hats and more, all with a
generic Friends of the Library logo! Great for your
own Friends of the Library group and all proceeds go
to assist the Friends of the Library in their support
of the public library system.
- Bi-Annual Business Meeting - This occurs each 1st Tuesday, 7pm in August and December. Held at the beginning of the Book Club Meeting at the Carnation Library
- 4th of July Book Sales at the Carnation Library
- Participation and Book Sales at the Carnation Farmer's Market August 22nd
- Volunteering where needed
- Development and expansion of our friends group. Membership forms are available at the Carnation Library.
- Development of a functional newsletter for better communication of library events and needs.
