Conventional wisdom holds that we will have fusion in 50 years. What's the hold up? The barriers to fusion are more psychological than technological. On the technology front, the conventional fusion approach seeks to fuse deuterium and tritium in a tokamak - an incredibly expensive gymnasium sized reactor. In contrast, a number of alternative fusion approaches exist, such as ours, which seeks to fuse boron and hydrogen using the dense plasma focus.
