Synopsis

Every year in June, the masters of the sand sculpting world gather at Hampton Beach New Hampshire for the exclusive invitation-only sand sculpting competition. Their masterpieces last only for a few weeks before they are gone, like dust in the wind. This book contains a look back at the 2005 competition sculptures as they rose from shapeless mounds of sand into their final shapes, and then their eventual removal. Each of the 13 compeditors had two pages of pictures showing their progress from start to finish. The massive demonstration sculpture which is the centerpiece of the competition is also featured with text explaining how the contest shaped up, how the sandsculptures are made, the rules, and the winners. It makes a perfect souvenir of a now-vanished spectacle. Please note, To draw out the details of the sculptures, the interior photos are in black and white. The cover photos are in color. 40 pages.
