Emerson Memories, Gary, IN

Gary Indiana's oldest and most famous high school, opened September 13, 1909. This was the first school to embody William A. Wirt's "Work-Study-Play" system of education, which became world famous.
Among Emerson's illustrious graduates were Karl Malden and Alex Karras.
