CafePress stopped people from ordering the original Ellen items without any explanation to us. When you click on an item to order it, a page says you cannot order the item "because of copyright issues." So we had our graphics guy create an original work of art based on Ellen's face and put it up on this page. This time CafePress contacted us and asked us to remove the image after "another store owner complained." Apparently, the "cartoon resembles a definite likeness to ellen feiss...the image is borderline an EXACT drawing of her. This 'likeness' can be construed as copyright infringement." So we had to remove that image as well.
<sigh>Copyright laws make people act like chickens.</sigh>
We love CafePress and think it's a great way to offer merchandise, but this seems really lame. Oh well.
Check out the online music magazine, Glorious Noise, a site dedicated to proving that rock and roll can change your life.
There's more merch at the GLONO shop.
