Hey, this was linked from gamespot (www.gamespot.com/news/2004/12/13/news_6114974.html ). Frightening.
There used to be a funny shirt for "sale" here...
This "store" was really meant as a joke. There was a recent slashdot (www.slashdot.org ) story about the whole EA debacle. (Go read this essay; www.livejournal.com/users/ea_spouse/ ), and someone asked, tongue in cheek, "When is a T-shirt coming out?".
This was my cunning and witty reply. I made a silly shirt intended to get a few laughs. I never thought anyone would actually buy one. I was certainly not attempting to profit off the misery of others.
I am NOT an EA employee, nor affiliated with them in any way. The name of the "store" was meant to reflect its content, not my identity. As I am not an EA employee, I cannot give you a first hand account of work conditions there. I've just read ea_spouse's account of things, as many of you have.
The response to this has been a little overwhelming, with several news site linking here. However there are obvious legal ramifications to publishing T-shirts about EA, and I have ethical problems with trying to make a buck off of the pain of others, so the shirts have been removed.
A few people have bought shirts already; the proceeds will be donated to the Child's Play charity (www.childsplaycharity.org ). If you were thinking about buying a shirt, please think about heading over there and spending your money on someone who would appreciate it.
Happy holidays, everyone!
