Usually when people are on the run, they are trying to escape some terrible consequence of a crime or wrong they committed. The one in pursuit is viewed as antagonistic and unwelcome. Did you know that people often run from God? Only, the difference is that He is not tracking them down to execute some cosmic warrant for their arrest. He is not pursuing because He needs to learn of their whereabouts. God is in pursuit of their hearts. He wants to overcome them with joy and peace. He wants to overcome us all with joy and peace.
