Ling was a very special duck in our home, literally. He spent several wonderful years out in the duckyard, but later got a bit too large and slow to defend himself properly from amorous drakes. Ling is the type of duck ordered at restaraunts, he is a PEKIN duck... unfortuntely you may know him as a Peking duck.

Ling spent last winter in the comfort of our home, enjoying showers and especially the area near the heater. By springtime he got quite excited to go outside, so went into the special area to be surrounded by gals. We now call that section of the woodland "Ling's Garden."

He passed just a few months ago at the ripe age of 5, which is about 4 years and 3 months longer than most ducks of his breed. Look at the series "Dreams of Flight" to see Ling as a spring "pup'." We will always think of ling as a very special guy, and he remains immortalized for us in the "Ling on the Wing" and "Dreams of Flight" series. Enjoy.
