Merlin the dog retired from painting in 2010 after a cancer scare required the amputation of a toe on his painting paw. Prior to retirement he had his own art studio and asked to paint about once a month. He chose his own colors and orientation for each of his paintings. The only things his human did was hold the canvas, put the paint on his "brushes" and clean up.
During his 7 year painting career Merlin's original artwork raised thousands of dollars for charities. Merlin's human does not take any money from this shop. Instead, credit earned from sales is used to buy items from this shop in order to enable him to continue his charitable giving in retirement.
www.cafepress.com/badbaddog is Merlin's companion shop "Bad Dog Merlin", for products with a slight bite.
