Synopsis:
In the year of 1815, a young woman, Miranda Tremain, is living with her parents in the the village of Hampstead, in the north of London. The man she loved, Stephen Drake, was recently killed at the Battle of Waterloo. His dying words to his captain, Trevor Hastings, were a wish for him to go to Miranda. When Trevor returns to England, he does just that. Miranda is virtually hopeless and she gives him a cool reception, but both she and Trevor begin to get visits from Stephen's ghost encouraging them to get together. Miranda's parents are not happy, and though her mother tries to keep Miranda at home, her father is anxious to marry her off. While her father tries to arrange a match with the son of a friend, Dexter Wesley, Miranda and Trevor meet clandestinely. Will their love blossom into marriage, or is their relationship hopelessly doomed? Perhaps their ghostly friend can help!
