Your favorite AKC dog breed is the blue Australian Cattle Dog. Australian Cattle Dogs are hard workers today on farms throughout the world. They need to run, chase, herd and play with their owners. They are sometimes suspicious of people and dogs they don't know. They are obedient, but training takes patience, as they are very independent dogs. The ACD is a member of the Herding Group and was first registered by the AKC in 1980. This dog is also known as: Australian Heeler, Blue Heeler, Red Heeler, Hall's Heeler, Queensland Heeler or by nicknames - bluey, ACD, and catttledog.
