Debra Cortese PHOTOPAINTINGS : Cocoplum
The basis for this art was a twilight snapshot of the setting sunlight on the cat tails in my front yard. As usual, I'm focusing on one thing, and am pleasantly surprised when I see the actual photo. The cocoplum hedge provided the lush green and organic shapes that I cannot resist. This piece is a return to my graphic roots and it combines my all of my favorite elements: the light and shadows, plants from my garden, geometric shapes, the reflections of the images representing the duality of our existence, the vibrant colors and highlighted energy ... I am so addicted to every aspect of creating this work. It is incredibly rewarding just to complete a piece like this... and then, I am able to share it. Even better.
