The Dream Pool represents a fantastic achievement in minimal ambient music at its pure essence. There doesn't seem to be too many different things going on at once during any one point in the album (which is not to say it's not well-engineered and superbly mixed), but that's the beauty of well-crafted minimalism. While emotionally, this is about as far removed from Tim Story's work as you can probably get, the two artists share an affinity for making a little music carry a lot of feeling. But, where Story's music is melancholic and sometimes even sad beyond words, Michael (Darshan Ambient) Allison's music conveys an utter and complete feeling of safety, warmth and compassion. It's one of my favorite ambient releases of the past several years and I highly recommend it!-Bill Binkleman for Wind And Wire
