» How to Easily Search Our Site
» Features on the Specific Product Pages
» Painters, Schools and Dates

There are three easy ways to search our website

- Use the Browse Designs list at the left of each page, or

- Click on the pictures or the labels underneath them, or

- Use the horizontal list at the top of each page to jump from where you are to other collections, categories, images and products either close to or farther away from where you are at, or

- You can use any combination of the above techniques at the same time.

How our website is set up

This site has three collections of images: paintings, vintage posters and old pictures. The paintings are grouped in categories by artist. You do not need to know what each artist's works look like or what a particular style looks like; you will find it very easy to browse through the artists until you find what you like.

Posters are arranged by artist, country or subject matter, such as military posters. Again, browsing is easy. Then there are old photographs of people and places.

Browsing by using the itemized list

If you know the artist you are interested in, or a specific painting, poster, poster style or photograph you want to see, you can go directly to the artist or image by using the list at the left of each page. The list is the same on each page. Every artist, painting, poster and picture is on the list. Paintings are listed first, then posters, then old photographs. The artists are listed alphabetically; under the artists' names their paintings, prints or posters are listed. Once you take a look at the list you will see how simple it is to use.

Browsing through collections, categories and images, and products

When you first open the website you can choose from one of the three collections: Famous Art and Artists, Vintage posters and Old Photographs. After choosing a collection by clicking on its caption or the picture above it you will be shown the artist or style categories available. So, if you choose Famous Art and Artists you will be shown a picture from each of the 32 artist categories, If you choose the Vintage Posters collection you will see a picture from 14 categories, grouped by artist, country or subject matter (such as beer posters.) Choosing the Old Photographs collection will lead you to two groups, photos of people and photos of places.

One picture of a painting or poster by each artist or subject matter has been chosen to lead you into a page with all that artist's available paintings or posters, or posters of a particular country or subject matter.

Click on one of the pictures or the label underneath it and you will be taken to a page where you can see all of the paintings, prints or posters by that artist or in that style which are available on a variety of products.

On the "Choose a Painting" or "Choose a poster" page for each artist there will be four boxes in a row which will contain the names of search engines: Google, Google Images, Answers.com, and Yahoo Search. Clicking on these seach enginges will begin searches that will lead you directly to pages of websites about the specific artists you are looking at.

If you don't see any paintings or posters or photos you like on a particular page, you will find it easy to move elsewhere within Cragmont Designs, using the methods described below.

If you see a painting, poster or photo you like you can then click on its picture and you will be taken to a page where you can select the product you want the image to appear on. Products include greeting cards, note cards, a wide variety of shirts, two sizes of mugs and a tote bag. Once you choose a product, you will go to a page where you will then be able to read about the product and see a close up of the image you have chosen.

Using this method, you can browse all of the available categories in each collection.

Jumping from one collection, category and page to another

To get back to a page you have already visited you can always click the Back Arrow on your browser, usually located in the upper left part of your browser's window. Or you can click the right button of your mouse and click on Back in the pop-up window. This is a fine way to back up a page or two, but is really slow and tedious if you want to go back where you started from or to a page further removed from where you are at, or if you want to go to a different collection (say, if you are in Famous Art and Artists and you want to go to Vintage Posters, or vice-versa.)

Jumping is easy to do on this website. Wherever you are you can jump to another location by clicking on the horizontal page list which runs across the top of each page. The list will be different depending on where you are. The further you go into a collection, category, painting or poster selection and product selection, the longer the list will be, but this list will never be longer than five items. And it will always tell you where you are presently at.

To jump from where you are, simply click on the page in the list that you want to visit.

This easily lets you choose a different collection, category, painting, poster, photo and product with just a couple of mouse clicks.

And the horizontal list at the top of the page and the list on the left side of each page are integrated. You can use them both interchangeably.

Examples

Here are two examples.

The first example:

- You have just entered the website and are on the home page. Choose a collection. Let's say you choose "Famous Art and Artists". Click on that caption or the picture above it.

- Now you will be on a page which shows a picture by each of 31 artists. The list at the top of the page says Cragmont Designs: Famous Art and Artists. If you wish you could return to the home page by clicking Cragmont Designs.

- Choose an artist. Let's say you choose "Paintings by Jan Vermeer". Click on that caption or the picture above it.

- Now you will be on the page which shows pictures of all of the available paintings by Jan Vermeer. The list at the top of page says Cragmont Designs: Famous Art and Artists: Paintings by Jan Vermeer. If you wish, you could return to the page with 31 artist categories or the home page by clicking Famous Art and Artists or Cragmont Designs, respectively. If not, then

- Choose a painting. Let's say you choose “Lacemaker”. Click on that caption or the picture above it.

- Now you will be on the page which shows pictures of all of the products available with this painting. The list at the top of page says Cragmont Designs: Famous Art and Artists: Paintings by Jan Vermeer: Lacemaker. If you wish, you could return to Paintings by Jan Vermeer, the page with 31 artist categories or the home page by clicking Paintings by Jan Vermeer, Famous Art and Artists or Cragmont Designs, respectively. If not, then

- Choose a product. Let's say you choose “Vermeer Lacemaker Greeting Card”. Click on that caption or the picture above it. Now you will be on a page that shows the product with the painting on it. The list at the top of page says Cragmont Designs: Famous Art and Artists: Paintings by Jan Vermeer: Lacemaker: Vermeer Lacemaker Greeting Card. The page tells a little about the painting and has information about the product. There is a place you can click on to view a larger picture of the product and the painting.

- If you want the product you can add it to your cart. If not, you can click on any of the pages in the horizontal list to go back to the products page, the Vermeer paintings page, the 31 artist categories page, or the Cragmont Designs home page where you can choose another collection.

- At any time in the process you can use the list at the left of the page. If, for example, you wanted to see the products page for a painting by Paul Cezanne called "Card Players", simply find that painting under Paintings by Paul Cezanne in the list on the left and you will immediately be taken to the products page for the painting “Card Players”. Notice that the horizontal list at the top of the page says Cragmont Designs: Famous Art and Artists: Paintings by Paul Cezanne: Card Players. One click get you to any of those pages. The list at the top of page says Cragmont Designs: Vintage Posters: 3 Military Posters: I'd Join the Navy: Join the Navy Sweatshirt. The page tells a little about the poster and has information about the product. There are places you can click on to view a larger picture of the product and the poster. To learn what additional information you can see on the specific product page, click here.

- If you want the product you can add it to your cart. If not, you can click on any of the pages in the horizontal list to go back to the products page, the 3 Military Posters page, the Vintage Posters page, or the Cragmont Designs home page where you can choose another collection.

- At any time in the process you can use the list at the left of the page. If, for example, you wanted to see the products page for a painting by Paul Cezanne called "Card Players", simply find that painting under Paintings by Paul Cezanne in the list and you will immediately be taken to the products page for “Card Players”. Notice that the horizontal list at the top of the page says Cragmont Designs: Famous Art and Artists: Paintings by Paul Cezanne: Card Players. You can click on any of the entries even though you have not paged through them. So you see that the two lists can be used interchangeably. You could just as well have chosen to go to another specific poster in the list at the left.
