You see them everywhere - in pet stores, in crab karts, and in webstores. Make the choice: just say NO!
Painted shells are used to sell land hermit crabs, to make them more 'appealing' to young children by painting them to resemble their favourite cartoon, movie or animal. Painted shells can be a problem with the paint chipping away or in some cases the hermit crab trapped within the shell, unable to walk or eat. We love hermit crabs just the way they are!
