Use the "right" keywords
During the Holidays the keyword "gift" will get a lot of hits. Combine the keyword "gift" with words related to the theme of your shop/merchandise. What you really want to do is focus your keywords on the theme of your shop/merchandise. If your shop is already optimized for search engines, add the top Holiday gift search terms. For example, if your target audience is dog lovers, then let them know you have "dog lover gifts" or get even more specific "gift ideas for pit bull, shih tzu, poodle dog lovers."
Top Holiday Search Terms:
Don't forget to use variations of keywords in your shop. For example, the keyword "dog" is competitive, so in addition be sure to list the dog breeds you have in your shop such as "pit bull", "pug", "dachshund", "golden retriever", etc… you get the idea. Optimize for the CafePress Marketplace
As you're adding new designs, be sure to add Tags for your images. Describe your designs well so they show up in the CafePress Marketplace. To show up in the CafePress Holiday portal, create designs we're featuring and tag appropriately.
Please note: Tag your images to describe your design. Unlike external search engines, do not add keywords such as "gifts", "holiday", "Christmas", and "presents" to your image tag unless these words describe your design.
Shop Organization: Group your merchandise so it's easy for your shoppers to find gifts. Think groupings by gift recipient or theme. Here are some ideas:
- Gift Recipients such as: Gifts for Her, Gifts for Him, Gifts for Kids & baby, Gifts for Fido (yes, for dogs)
- Holiday Decorations to help your customers kick the Holiday off with all the trimmings such as Ornaments, Tile Frames, Yard Signs, Pillows, Buttons, and Magnets
- Greeting/Note Cards section and organize by the theme such as Merry Christmas, Holiday, Hanukkah... to name a few
- Stocking stuffers like Buttons, Stickers and Magnets are popular cross-sell items

Top Sellers: Make sure these top-selling items are in your shop in time for the Holidays!
