I started my website in mid-2001 (motowngirl.com) to document my hair journey/experience from super-straight relaxed hair to my "au naturel" hair texture. Although it was initially hosted on a free webhosting company, over the years it grew to a one-stop "how-to" shop to maintain hair at home and I had to upgrade for more space etc.

I am proud to say that I run my entire website and this store myself (from website design, graphic design, writing, picture taking, etc.) and its been a help to girls/women all over the world! Homemade hair recipes, dispelling myths, to detailed hairstyling instructions are all covered along with many other topics and it's all FREE.

Due to its popularity and increasing traffic (i.e. bandwidth - which cost BIG bucks), I decided to open up an online store to assist with the costs and to play around graphic designing. I wanted my designs to be basic, (not too busy with images etc.), but fun/bright at the same time. Also (and most importantly) to make people proud and celebrate their hair!
