Hello, everybody! I am hiroshi tokita, a picture book author. I used to work as a detective in the metropolitan police. I left the police three years ago and I now live at the foot of theTsukuba mountains.
When I left the police, so many people worried about me, but now, I have a goal. I would like to make books and picturebooks, which spotlight japanese beauty and virtue.
I would be happy if my books could deliver old time lessons from our ancestors, warm thoughts from parents, and create an opportunity for children to discover something very important.
Japan has a very unique history and culture of which we should be proud. A civilization which, as the end of the silk road, has absorbed elemants from many different cultures throughout the reign of the 125 emperors. A sense of value of spirit, which can not be replaced by material civilization. The 250 year rein of the tokugawa government (edo-bakufu) lasted without war, and to date, Japan has remained a country of peaceful society without conflict for 60 years.
we are the children of people who maintained this tradition, and we are a people who uphold this tradition for the next generation.
