The Ægishjalm (or Aegishjalmur) is a symbol
of protection used by the early Norse. It was used to confer invincibility in the wearer or to instill
fear in one's enemies. The is some debate on whether the Ægishjalmr is a bindrune or not; it has the
characteristics of a bindrune but at the same time could just be a talisman or charm.
