Conal's Corner : Officer Gear
|
A newcomer to an an SCA meeting or event is often confused about "who is in charge." In the SCA we don't use the
traditional titles, such as President, Secretary, Treasurer and so forth. Instead we use Medieval titles, such as
Seneschal, Exchequer, Herald, Marshal, Chirurgeon and so forth, and divide the duties of running the group to these
various officers who have responsibility for a specific area, and then an "overall" officer who coordinates the
efforts of the other officers, and ensures that they are able to handle the duties assigned to them.

Marshal GearThere are marshals for each of discipline of combat activities. |
Minister of the ListMinister of the Lists - The officer in charge of the paperwork end of all aspects of fighting. |

Constable GearConstable - Typically the officer responsible for site safety. (May vary from Kingdom to Kingdom) |
ChatelaineChatelaine - The officer responsible for welcoming and assisting new members and for providing information for people interested in finding out about the SCA. |
Gold Key GearGold Key - The person responsible for providing a collection of clothing, accessories and feast gear to loan to guests respectively. Some Kingdoms use this Badge for the Office of the Chatelaine. |
Chronicler GearChronicler - Responsible for keeping branch history and informaion. |
WebministerWebminister - The Officer who maintains the groups website. |
