Conal's Corner : Peer Gear

A peer in the Society for Creative Anachronism is a person who has been recognized by the crown for exemplory and consistant practice and advancement of Skill at Arms, Service, or Arts and Sciences. All Peers are expected to be the role models in the SCA, upholding the values of chivalry and committing themselves to service to the realm.

There are three Great Orders of Peerage, or polling orders: the Order of the Chivalry, the Order of the Laurel, and the Order of the Pelican. Those who have accpted admission into one of these orders are known as Knights/Masters of Arms, Laurels, or Pelicans respectively.

It is important to note that a peerage is not an award, but a recognition by one of the Perrage orders that a person is their peer, or equal.
