From the Contributor
In his second poetry collection, Chris Moore has moved away from strictly autobiographical poetry to experiment with different forms. His first collection is also printed at the end of this book.
Synopsis
A collection of Chris Moore's poetry from 2003-2004, spearheaded by the longest of the poems, "Untitled Semblance of the Truth." For six months, he carried the same beat-up stack of folded paper in his pocket wherever he went, often going days without actually adding to the poem. Whenever inspiration (or time) struck, he sat down and wrote additional observations of life as well as edited what he had already written. "It was probably the most difficult writing I've done, at least as far as poetry goes," he said recently. "I still don't feel as if I've quite captured everything I had hoped to. But, then again, when is any project like this complete? It started as a constant observation and analysis of faces and places and the relationship between the two. The title is a result of me realizing that it doesn't represent the truth--as if there even is such a thing--but merely a semblance of it."
