Charles Ives Store

American composer, Charles Edward Ives (1874-1954) was born in Danbury, CT. His biggest influence was his father George Ives has been the youngest Union bandmaster during the Civil War. Most of his music was composed between 1896 and 1916 but it wasn't until 1947 that Ives received a Pulitzer Prize for the Third Symphony. The proceeds from the sale of items here goes to support the Danbury Museum & Historical Society, which is the caretaker of the Charles Ives Birthplace.
