The church does not "make" someone a saint, it can only recognize that a soul is in heaven. Karol Wojtyla, Pope John Paul II made a deep impact on the world. If he is not in heaven then we pray for his time in purgatory to be short, if he is in heaven then we pray that the church may soon make this known to all.
