CANTER Ohio is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charity providing Ohio's retiring thoroughbred racehorses opportunities for new careers. Through 2008, we have transitioned more than 526 racehorses at risk of slaughter for human consumption abroad and placed them into loving homes and new careers. These horses were bred all over the country. We accept any racehorse in need, regardless of physical condition or circumstance.
