“Creating images is my passion. I so enjoy using Mother Nature as my model; I never have to go far to find an encouraging subject, whether recording tiny rain drops on a fallen leaf or an abstract late afternoon shadow lingering from an old fire escape. Taking commonplace subjects and finding beauty within brings me great inspiration. Being aware of the texture, color, contrast, shape and lighting allows me to go beyond the obvious and discover what is often invisible to the casual observer. I seek images that portray the not so obvious, of the obvious; images of what we are exposed to every day of our lives, but often do not see. Having to answer to no one, my creative efforts are mine alone; I can explore as I wish, go where I please and create as I desire. It is this freedom that allows me to produce the images I see, and art that I am proud of.”

Synopsis:

...and what are the words one uses to describe a compilation? works from my entire life, fifty years of carrying around a yellow pad, fifty years of writing and rewriting, changing the words, as their meanings change for me. I read these words and it launches me back into years and people past. it takes me to when I was five years old, my early school years, Viet Nam, college, loves in my life, my parents, my friends, my art, my good times and bad, and our 9.11. It reminds me of the places I have cared so deeply for and the people who so unselfishly allowed me to interact with them. I have had a great life; privileged, not from wealth, but from the community who were and are my great family of friends. And to them, though you are few in numbers, you are everything to me. to that end, I thank and acknowledge and love you all. This is a collection of works, taken from writings that span from over fifty years of my life.
