the future's not what it used to be
If we look back at what we thought was going to happen, then by now we would have had our own personal rocket ships and faithful robot companions; we'd have been blasting out full tilt in time-speed-distance rallies between the moons of Mars, filling up our retro rockets at Interstellar Gulf's hygienic and modern filling stations, and - every now and then - engaging in a heated ray gun battle with the forces of evil. We'd know who they were because they'd be green, they'd have the wrong number of eyes, and they'd be clutching shrieking - if politically undeveloped - space women in tight-fitting outfits.

Maybe not that last one. Buck Rogers' friend Wilma was a pretty tough cookie.

But anyway, something went wrong, somehow.

We adopted the shape of the City of Tomorrow only because it was cheap to build, and we never bothered to put the right stuff into it. I aim to change all that.

So if any of that works for you, please jump right in and explore the designs I've been working on, for posters, cups & coasters, and odds & ends - like post cards, greeting cards, and whatnot.

Retro Rocket and Robot Art

retro future
Here, in the Retropolis store, I want to remind you just how cool the future almost was. Have a look through here and consider a poster of your very own that will keep you mindful of how nice it'd be to have that retro rocket, to converse with that faithful robot, or- only when strictly necessary - to subdue that Awful Green Thing From Space. Consider equipping your daily life with a reminder that the future ought to have such things in it.

Thrilling Tales!

The thing is, there's still an awful lot of future out there. We always have the chance to fill it with what we want it to be.
