blazon v. 1. To describe a coat of arms in proper terms. 2. To proclaim widely.
BLAZONED lets you proclaim yourself widely. It is a place for unique vintage graphic tees and other apparel. BLAZONED designs are inspired by heraldry, a tradition with a thousand years of rich history, but of course, we put a modern twist on things.
Matthew gets bored easily. He has a full time day job. He reads books. He travels. He runs 4 miles a day. He writes fiction. (For those interested, check out Write, Wrote, Written.) And of course, he also designs tee shirts. However, BLAZONED is more than just an ADD-spawned distraction for him. In 2005, he was diagnosed with cancer. Fortunately, it was a very treatable kind, and after surgery and a round of radiaion therapy, he's back to normal, with the exception that he's not afraid of much of anything anymore. He knows that in a sense, he was very lucky. Cancer is still the second leading cause of death in the United States. He's been trying to find a way to make a difference, and BLAZONED has given him that way. He's pledged to donate a portion of every sale to cancer research, in order to help find a way to finally beat the disease.
In a sense, heraldry is the original brand marketing. In the beginning, it's purpose was to allow a soldier to tell friend from foe on the battlefield, but gradually, it developed into a complex system for identifying individuals with its own language, its own set of laws and event its own court system. Today in may countries, the display of a coat of arms is still regulated by the government. You can learn more by following these links:
