Synopsis

Debaters using philosophy in their cases need a better source of information and thats our mission at Blaze-On Briefs. Unlike other brief companies, we use people who teach philosophy to explain philosophy. We're here to provide debaters and teachers alike, with in-depth analysis of original philosophical works along with helpful applications. We make philosophy easy so that you can not only understand it, but also use it effectively in your cases and classrooms. Part I is the introduction to philosophy and its relation to debate as well as how philosophy can aid with topic analysis and case construction. Part II deals with the major ethical systems of Utilitarianism and Kantianism. Part III covers the major social contracts of Hobbes, Locke and Rousseau as well as Hume's critique of social contract theory. Finally, Part IV is an analysis of Plato's, Aristotle's, Mill's, Hume's and Rawls' views on justice along with a section on Nozick's critique of Rawls.
