| Last night I put on a fresh pot of coffee after a troubling dream about dying and got to work on a new set of free wallpapers for the website. I wanted something new and in looking through the unused comic-con material I ran across the trolley snapshot. As I worked on the wallpapers I noticed that the image was a near perfect sideshot. In the back of my mind I remembered my MRI scan. I dug out the MRI pic and in one of my paint programs overlaid the two images and they fit like a perfect glove! |  |

All this week I've been working on colorizing images and I knew that this image needed some color to make it pop out. I tried the blues but it just begged for bloody red. The MRI was of course blue making it a nice juxtaposition of dualities, the inside versus the outside, fire and ice, Boaz and Jachin, life fighting death. That's when I got the idea for merging the two into one and when I did that I immediately noticed that the resulting ink blot "roarsch" pattern resembled the Tree of Life and that the orange spot on the MRI picture was 100% in line! |  |
I tweaked the two with a bit of cloning and rotation and The Tree of Life fell into place as perfect as you please! Life, they say, is just "full of coincidences." After adding some special custom color work to the bottom URL and some balancing "sun - circle and dot" symbols the design that resulted is the perfect mix of science and mysticism. Yin and Yang can't get much better than this!
