Act 1, Scene 3 "Amnesia in a Stick"
Doctor Terry Moore is an important man, at
least in his own mind. Why should he allow himself to get angry after
another of Harold's desperate and insulting phone calls. So
underappreciated. He'll kick a chair maybe and then get
back into the groove of life. Once again, I
employ visual subtext in the form of burn scars on Terry's arm and his small
mirror, scratched out - on only one side, the particular type of coffee cup
on the table, and the uniform Terry wears. And who's that in the mirror?
Then there is the careful manner in which the dear doctor handles this
particular stick of "Webber's Bubblemint Gum." I'll let you guess at
the setting and the STORY but the title is clearly a clue to this scene.
