Mixed-up Metaphor DesignsAll right, I'll admit that I have a very odd sense of humor, but I just loving mixing up metaphors. I mean, sure, I could cross that bridge when I come to it, but it's so much more interesting to burn it instead. And why look for a needle in a haystack when I could try threading one with a haystack instead? Threading a Needle "Trying to find a needle in a haystack" + "Trying to thread a needle with a sledgehammer" = Trying to thread a needle with a haystack. |
Burning Bridges "Don't burn your bridges behind you" + "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it" = We'll burn that bridge when we come to it. |
Half Of One... Is it six of one and a half dozen of another? Or is it half of one and six dozen of another? |

Midnight Oil "Burning the midnight oil" + "Burning the candle at both ends" = Burning the midnight oil at both ends. |
Robbing Peter "Robbing Peter to pay Paul" + "Time to pay the piper" = Robbing Peter to pay the piper. |

Two Things All right, technically this isn't a mixed metaphor, but people who say, "If it's not one thing, it's another" just don't understand that more often than not it's both things.... |
