My NaturePix photo collection comprises 39 separate nature photographs that I have personally taken over the years, ranging from lightning shots, to sunsets, to astrophotography, to rainbows, to wild animals, and much, much more. All of the photographs were taken with my trusty Minolta XE-5 35mm camera, which was 10-years-old when I bought it in 1986 and which has accompanied me in my travels around the globe.
One note about these photographs -- they are all real! People often ask me if any of my pictures are double exposures or computer enhanced, especially the one with the lightning and the rainbow in the same frame, and I just want to assure you that they are 100% real. The most I have done is to digitally fiddle with the color balance, but only to ensure that the scanned in images accurately reflect the original hardcopy versions.
The CD contains all 39 photographs shown on this page, scanned in at both 1024x768 and 800x600 resolution to accommodate different monitor sizes.
All images are in bitmap [.bmp] format to preserve image quality, and also to provide compatability for different compter operating systems. The images have been optimized for use as computer backgrounds or "wallpaper", but can also be used for use as stationary, greeting cards, etc.
The CD also contains a free screensaver program that will display large jpeg [.jpg] versions of the images as a random slideshow with tons of cool "transition" effects between each image. There is also a separate, stand-alone slideshow program included for quickly viewing all the images in order.

The planets were actually a little closer together on the previous night, but on this night I managed to catch the moon right in between the planets for an extra special shot. |

First in a series of shots I took in the Summer of 1998 while on a whale watch cruise out of Boston Harbor. Most of the whales we saw were small "Miki" whales, but toward the end of the cruise we encountered a pod of hump back whales! Because I wasn't expecting to see whales up close, the only lens I had with me was my 500mm reflector telephoto. As it turns out, though, the whales actually came right up to the side of the boat and my lens was mostly useless. Fortunately, I did get a couple of good shots as we left the area.... |
