From the Contributor

This CD will teach you some of the more popular Rhythms for playing on your Doumbek or for a Dancer, This is also a great CD for practicing your Zil Patterns

Our Favorite Letters Thank you, thank you! You have no idea how much I wanted to sell my zills...now I LOVE THEM!!Let me back up here...I am getting into drum circles(fun!) as a bellydancer I had always loved the sound of a doumbek & didn't know how to play, I ordered your discs, and next thing I know I'm drumming AND playing my zills! I now have 3 doumbek and 4 pairs of zills- and to think I had wasted SO much money on workshops and other CDs :-( You are amazing and thank you for teaching me the wonderful world of rhythm! Candy M. Portland, OR ---------------- Hello Jesse, I’m writing to let you know that about a year ago I purchased several CD’s, including Rhythm Herders, D.R.U.M, and both of the teaching CD’s ‘Playing Along with Middle Eastern Rhythms 1 & 2”. I was pleased with all of my purchases, but wanted to comment in particular on the teaching discs. They are excellent- very clear and well-paced. I like the fact that each rhythm is broken down slowly, but yet you don’t drag out the slow part too long. Right away it is sped up so that you really get a chance to practice at several speeds. Although unfortunately the drum I purchased (from someone else) has some issues that affect the sound (probably the main issue being me!), I actually often play your discs when I practice my finger cymbals, and it work’s great! I would definitely recommend these CD’s to anyone who is either beginning to learn drum, wants to learn additional rhythms, is learning finger cymbals, or even just dancers who want to learn to recognize the different rhythms more easily regardless of whether they play any instruments. By the way, the new website looks great, and I look forward to purchasing many more items- especially some of the great artwork of adorable belly dancers!! Thanks for the help in my quest to learn! Best Wishes, Elviza ~~~~~~ The first CD’s sent are very very good! I don’t know why I didn’t notice there was a companion book, but I just received the booklet and the new CD’s ordered today. The volume 1 and 2 has been very helpful with my practicing. I have been playing them mostly on frame drum, but also on the doumbek. Rhythm Herders sounds great and am looking forward to playing KEF. Keep up the good playing, Diane kinkade
