On the Contradiction of Belief and Violence

Whether we believe in God, Allah, A Great Spirit, Creative Energy, The Totality, or Evolution, God is God regardless of human precepts, utterances, and crude markings. Does frail mankind expect to pin down God with violence to enforce our human precepts? With fear, do we intend to force our view of God to prevail in human affairs? Do we place our view over God? Is this God's will, or our own arrogance? If we do not let God be God, who is God, but our own vanity. If we let God reveal the truth through nature, we can learn to accept God's eternal presence without contrivances. By what name do we call God? Is this another artificial barrier to knowing each other and accepting God's presence. Perhaps a better concept of God is silence.

Peace without Boasting

Is the peace of God found in the silent desert beyond the senses? Is a better prayer, a prayer without words? Perhaps in the quiet of the desert we find the eternal stillness that empties into the rivers of life. Food is no longer a blinding obsession but the bread of life. Power and glory fade in the honesty of the sun. Miracles are a matter of course when heaven and earth are united. The eternal compliments the temporal without boasting.
