Exploitation and habitat loss are some of the contributing factors in the decline of amphibians worldwide. Some of the causes remain a mystery. In some cases we are seeing complete extinctions. Amphibians have porous skins and narrow environmental requirements and their decline may be indicitive of something underway in our environment. Where amphibians proceed, others may follow.
