Jaguar

The Jaguar is the third largest wild cat after the lion and tiger. Similar in appearance to the leopard but with a stronger build. The Jaguar is a solitary animal and classified as near threatened.

Viewed as something sinister in ancient European mythology, the Dragonfly is identified as a symbol of courage, strength and happiness by the Japanese. In any case Dragonflies eat mosquitos.

The Snow Leopard inhabits South and Eastern regions of Asia. Listed as endangered. The Snow Leopard has an exceptionally long tail, it uses to cover it's nose and mouth to keep warm while sleeping.

The Monarch Butterfly has a lifespan of about 8 weeks. It is one of the few insects capable of oceanic migration. Numbers are in deline due to deforestation.

Lion

The male Lion can reach 600 lbs in the wild and is second in size only to the tiger. The Lion is classified as vulnerable to extinction. Most Lions live in southern and eastern Africa.

Peacock

The Blue Peacock is the national bird of India. The Green Peacock is listed as vulnerable to extinction due to loss of habitat and hunting.

Panda

Panda
The Giant Panda is classified as an endangered animal. It is estimated that there are approximately 2000 Pandas alive in the world.

Lemur

Lemur
All sub-species of Lemurs are endangered due to de-forestization and to a lesser extent hunting. Lemurs are naturally found in Madagascar and the island of Comoros.

Puffins

Cheetah

0-70 in 3 seconds! The Cheetah is the fastest of all land animals. Cheetahs are classified as vulnerable to extinction.

Black Rhino

The Black Rhino isn't actually black, and is most easily distinguished from the White Rhino by ear size. All Rhinos in the wild are extremely endangered.

The survival of Giraffes in the wild is dependent on conservation efforts. Giraffes are the tallest land animals, and favor a diet of acacia leaves.

Loggerheads that reach maturity can live to 50 years in the wild. Many wind up in fishings nets, or are killed by boat propellers. Loggerheads are endangered.

Silverback

Silverback
The Silverback is a large male gorilla. All gorillas in the wild are endangered due to poaching and loss of habitat. Gorillas are also vulnerable to the ebola virus.

Cougar

Cougar
Cougar or Puma, Mountain Lion, Panther, known by all of these names, this large feline lives a solitary life and is endangered primarily due to loss of habitat.

Loon

Loon
Loons or Divers are medium sized waterbirds that often pair-bond for life. They hunt by diving into clear lake waters and spearing their prey with their beaks.

Orangutan

Orangutan
Orangutans in the wild are critically endangered, due in part to loss of habitat. Orangutans favored food in the wild is figs.

African Elephant

African Elephant
The number of African Elephants in the wild has been drastically reduced in the last 50 years. Poaching is still a serious problem.
