Who's Amos Fly? Ok, so Amos Fly. Way back, at whatever age it is that we are obsessed with knock-knock jokes, my little bro (ok, he's not so little any more -- has a PhD and a total fam. with kids and stuff. I'd call him "younger", but that makes me feel old ;-P) crossed paths with the following:

- Knock, knock - Who's there? - Amos - Amos who? - A mosquito bit me.

Heh. ;-) If you have lived through a kid's joke phase, you know that a common side effect is that they make up their own jokes. Which is what happened here. Witness:

Which really, though it makes less sense than the original, is funnier. That's how Amos came to be part of our family's oral history. Then one day he became an icon as well -- I thought Dad would get a kick out of his very own soup mug emblazoned with the legendary joke. So I made a goofy drawing to go with it. And here he is.
