Synopsis
This is my father's account of his experience in in the U.S. Navy during World War II, with much of his time spent on a minesweeper. Though they weren't supposed to, many servicemen wrote in little diaries just like the two I transcribed from, using his old pictures, a Life magazine and his service records which I obtained just prior to assembling this book. It is also a love story. The story of my parents' love, which continued to the final moment of their lives and certainly into the infinite beyond of their afterlife together. True love does not die; it just transforms into something much bigger.
