to the current Iraq Crisis -- there has been a vibrant and patriotic group
of Americans who have advocated for peace. During the Civil War many
Democrats opposed war,
in WWII the Republicans were the peaceniks. Today many proud and patriotic
Americans -- from veterans to doctors to unionists to families to Christians
to Muslims and beyond -- stridently pray for peace. The bumper stickers
were created to help these folks demonstrate that peace is patriotic. |
