Painted Sun Records released Songs for Laura Volume One and Volume Two. These are benefit CDs aimed to raise funds and awareness for cancer treatment in the memory of Forest Sun's mother, Laura.
"Laura left her body feb 17th, two years later than the doctors said she had to live. She died at home as she requested. Dressed in her finest garments and jewelry, holding her lovers hand as she took her last breath. My brother Bryn and I got to spend a week with her in the hospital and say goodbye. She couldn't speak but I know she could hear. I brought my guitar and we sang her favorite songs. I played her the Songs for Laura CD everyday. She is a courageous and beautiful and powerful being...and she will be missed. Songs for Laura is available at
