Welcome to the Rescue Illinois merchandise page. With proceeds from the sale of these items, we will continue to forward the breed rescue movement in the state of Illinois. Eventually, we hope to print an annual, updated edition of rescue contact information, similar to what is already available on our website, to be distributed state-wide. Through supporting rescue, we hope to keep potential adopters within the animal welfare community, as well as diminish the demand for and purchase of puppy mill-bred animals. Story behind the pictured dogs: Charlie (large terrier) and Adrianne (yorkie) are 2 shelter-rescued dogs. Charlie was found as a stray puppy in Chicago's Robert Taylor Projects in the middle of November. His emaciated body was flea infested, and he was very withdrawn. Adrianne was abandoned at the shelter for severe behavioral problems. Her previous owners bought her from a pet store as a puppy and expected her to train herself. She had most likely suffered abuse for her destructive habits. With a little time, patience, and love, both dogs have become wonderful, well-adjusted companions.
